Meeting Report |

Welcome to our new up-to-speed newsletter! We are into the twenty first century! This letter has something for everyone in our club. If you are a relatively new member you can get information on all kinds of Rotary International projects, our club activities, or our District 7230 efforts. If you are a long time member look for items that will make you proud to be a Rotarian. It is all here thanks to the great imagination and work of one of our most recent recruits, Kevin Gagliardi.
Kevin worked with Harrison Rotary President, John Porco, to get us to this point. So a tip of the hat to both of these fine gentlemen. This is Rotary at its best when we can rely on our own and those of our brothers to get the message of our clubs out to our members.
We have some special programs coming for the next two months. First of all we have our Tea on May 15th. Watch this bulletin for more information. Nancy and Elena are working to take over from Bunny who did a great job last year. The tea will have the finest of sandwiches and mini deserts. We look forward to you attending and bring some people for tea. Now that the Plaza Hotel in New York City is closing, this is the place to get your tea.
At the tea, we will be having a silent auction. Last year we had some wonderful gifts that went at bargain basement prices. We had an airplane trip around Manhatten, Jets tickets, a walking tour of the Gilded Age on Fifth Avenue, beautiful handcrafted jewel ear rings, pendants, and pins, dinners at some of the best restaurants in lower Westchester, car detailing, a beautiful grill and many more great items. If you have something to offer please contact Mike Fix.
Please see our list of speakers for the month of May. We have some great people with informative thoughts, good entertainment, and something that will be appropriate for the time.
The District's Paul Harris lunch is on the 29th of April at the Crowne Plaze in White Plains. We will honor our own Dr. Paul Muscolino. Paul and his wife Inez will be there. Westchester County District Attorney, Jeannine Pirro, will be the speaker.
Our sincere thoughts of sympathy to Bunny and Sue on the loss of their dear husband and dad. Bob was not an official Rotarian, but he was like a member of the club. There was always have a good time with Bob.... always a smile and good story. He will be missed by all of us.
As we near the end of the year it will be busy, but a time to rejoice. We will have a new Paul Harris fellow in the club.....Paul Muscolino. We will be having our Tea; our program schedule is full and we are getting ready to bring our new president, John Bahr to the leadership of the club in July.
Thanks for all of your support. We have had a wonderful year and have met all of our Goals, the 4 M's;(More Members, Better Meetings, a Meaningful Impact Project in Town, and more Money to do our good work). Nice going to all of you; Finally come to our meetings; you get good food, good information, and good collegiality of an upbeat and positive thinking Rotary Club.
Remember.....we meet Any Wednesday!!! |

To show off our Gazebo which will be installed sometime around the end of May, we will have a smaller Gazebo on a trailer as our entry into the Memorial Day Parade. Decked out with bunting of Blue and Gold Stars and with the entrance surrounded by streamer of Red, White & Blue, this will be the best float in the parade. It will be in town and will want your hands to put the decorations on. Contact Elena Peruso if you would like to help. There will be room for some of us to sit in the gazebo. Hopefully we will have one more open car for the rest of us who can't walk. This is important, because we have to show our local soldiers that we are thinking of them while they are in the service of our nation.

May 14th
Our Patty Dohrenwend will be honored at their dinner. She has been a major factor in helping St. Paul’s preserve its documents at the archives, which she was gracious enough to have us to for a lunch and tour.
May 18th
This is an exchange meeting with the Rotary Club of Mt. Vernon. They have been to two of our meetings. Now they have invited us to their meeting. They will have a speaker.
May 25th
Our speaker for the day is Harriett Huber from the Westchester End of Life Program. As much as the group Harriett represents, I think you are going to find this very informative. I would recommend that if possible you bring a partner to this, as it is important to both you and your spouse.
May 29th
Our gazebo for the parade will be in the backyard and we will put the decorations on for the Memorial Day Parade, which is the next day. This should take no longer than an hour.
May 30th
We will have the Gazebo in the parade. Hopefully, the Nebraska State Band will be with us. Some of us can ride in the Gazebo. There will probably be another high-end car in the parade and maybe the 1930 Rotary Model A. Those who want to march can do so. We can rotate so no one gets tired. The marshalling area for the Parade is behind Old Navy. We will give you more details, as we know them.
