Rotary Club of Eastchester Aids the JLB's Canned Goods Drive

The Junior League of Bronxville in 2015 introduced the Canned Good Drive Challenge, which was a great way to highlight the JLB's vision of Stamping Out Hunger.  This year they brought that aspect back to benefit the food pantry at our community partner Eastchester Community Action Partnership (ECAP)which is led by Don Brown.  The Eastchester Rotary Club, led by President David Walker, was very happy to support the JLB in their goal to reach 500 cans for ECAP, purchasing 376 canned goods. The Rotary cans were purchased with donations from Commizio Orthodontics, Eastchester Trip Service and member David Fuller. With the 260 cans donated by attendees at the JLB's annual Touch a Truck Family Day event held on Saturday, October 8, the final total of cans collected for ECAP came to 636 ! Rotary also transported all the cans down to ECAP where volunteers, including Alan Benedict, carried them into storage for future distribution. The JLB also was eligible to received funds based on reaching their goal of 500 cans from PERSICO and People's United Bank, adding $1000.00 to the JLB budget to further support their work to stamp out hunger.
